The loss of a pet can be hard, but an artist in Davis has found a way to ease that pain.

He is bringing new life to old pet photographs with the stroke of a brush. Peter Shahrokh is a pet portrait artist, which means when pets pass away, he paints their photographs with water colors.

“A painting is so much better… it’s not as passing as a picture. It has a little sole in it”. said Shahrokh.

What started out as a favor to a friend has now turned into a portfolio of memories. Blurry and sometimes candid cell phone pictures are often all Shahrokh has to work with.
