Maddie, our first Golden Retriever and our heart dog, fought Mast Cell Tumor cancer since she was diagnosed in August of 2015 and her first tumor was removed. This photo was taken two months later and to me captures Maddie’s spirit. Even though she had 4 surgeries in three years to remove tumors, in between she was a therapy dog who brought joy, love and comfort to patients and staff at our local hospital, and residents of memory care. She was happy, gentle, playful and a love. She passed away in 2022.
