This is Bijou on December 9, 2021 at age 11. She was my best friend and constant companion for 13 years. Bijou was diagnosed with anal adenocarcinoma in July 2021, had surgery in August, and chemotherapy treatment starting in September. Her tumor was found on a routine veterinary exam fortunately very early before Bijou showed any signs of being sick. The bandana she has on in this photo says it all “Kicking Cancer’s Tail” as that is exactly what she did. Bijou continued to love life for an additional 15 months. I consider her my cancer warrior as she not only survived but thrived throughout her treatment and never showed any symptoms of having cancer. I am still amazed by her resilience and strength and miss her every day.
