Jake was diagnosed with spleen hemangiosarcoma in 2018. He was later diagnosed with thyroid cancer and lymphoma. Through two surgeries to remove his spleen and thyroid and then numerous rounds of chemotherapy for the lymphoma, he was a cancer warrior for over six years. Using social media posts with his sunglasses poses, his family gave hope and support to other owners whose pets were undergoing cancer treatments. He passed away in October 2024 at 12.5 years of age surrounded by his family and oncology team.
