“MAXIMILIAN THE DAPPER DOBIE” was adopted by me in 2019 (at approx 6-7yrs old). He had survived roundworm, tapeworm, hookworm, giardia, ear infections and a groin infection (due to an improper neuter, with ‘rubber bands’ !). When I adopted him he was healed up. He was well-trained & was to become a service dog, but was disqualified due to his fear of elevators. “MAX” was always obedient & very comical. In 2022 I noticed skin lesions (which I thought were allergy related), but sadly it was Cancer. We fought valiantly for 2 years, but he finally passed in March 2024 at home on his dog bed, me cradling his head saying “It’s okay MAX……you can cross-over the Rainbow Bridge……we’ll meet again” through my tears.
