In 2015, Dr. Kyle Stevenson lost her best friend, Potter, to cancer.
Stevenson is a veterinary specialist at The Animal Doctors in Watertown, New York and spends her time nursing animals back to health.
Now, Stevenson is taking a stand to bring awareness to canine cancer in honor of her dog and the many others affected by the disease. It’s all with a walk called ‘Paws 4 Potter.’
“A lot of people aren’t aware that cancer is so prevalent in dogs and if we are able to get more people with that knowledge and understanding that ‘yes, it is a problem,’ people just don’t know it’s something that we see in dogs,” she said.
Since losing Potter, she has hosted many more walks for her non-profit, Paws4Potter and she writes blogs for the National Canine Cancer Foundation
