Though pets enrich our lives greatly, their time that they share with us is much too short. The life span of most dogs and cats range from 10-14 years. Some live much longer and others are taken from our lives much too soon.
The past few weeks have been sad for close friends who have lost their beloved pets. I grieve with them as I’ve known and shared their journey with their pets as well. It’s always hard to lose an old friend whether it’s a human or a pet.
It is heartbreaking to lose a pet that you’ve shared so much of your life with. I have been lucky enough to have a wonderful dog live to be almost 19 years old before having to have her put down.
Amanda was a great Australian Cattle Dog who set the bar for my other dogs that have followed her. Another wonderful Cattle dog found her way into my life but it was only for a short while.
