This page is dedicated to our Greyhounds’ Zuzu and Dory.  Zuzu came into our life in January of 2005 and Dory came to us six months later.  We have never been the same since we adopted these lovable Greyhounds.  Dory loved to play, well destroy, her toys and loved going for car rides.  Zuzu on the other hand shakes the whole time she is in the car but is the best snuggler around.  We had our first experience with cancer with Dory about two years ago.  It was the beginning of the summer and Dory had decided she did not always want to eat her breakfast.  After a number of visits to the vet including getting her teeth cleaned, the Vet finally found a mass.  Unfortunately, when we found the mass in her abdomen it had spread from her liver to her intestines.  We had the weekend to spend with her and then it was time to let her go over the Bridge.  We miss her tremendously!  That was July of 2007. 

This past March Zuzu was diagnoses with Angiosarcoma, which started in her ear and has spread to her neck.  She is trooper - she has had her ear removed, 4 rounds of chemo and had her chest tapped over 4 times with over 3000ml of fluid removed.  She has had many really great days going on long walks, eating ice cream and snuggling with her Mom and Dad.  Currently she is doing ok, the humid weather is getting to her a little but overall she is good.  We are in constant contact with our Vet to make sure she is having a good quality of life. 

We love our Grey's so much and have hated to see them go through the pain and suffering associated with this disease.  Both were 6 yrs old when they were diagnosed, we want to know why so many dogs are getting this disease and how can it be prevented.  That is the reason we want to help the National Canine Cancer Foundation.
