21-year-old Amy Thompson and her parents Pete and Sharon, from Solihull, recently lost their ten-year-old dog to cancer.

The Thompson family had had Archie since he was just 4 months old. At the age of 10, Archie fell ill, and was really poorly for a couple of weeks.

‘At first doctors thought it was a stomach infection, then a kennel cough, and on Friday the 27th I received the dreaded phone call that it was cancer and he had days left,’ Amy told Metro.co.uk.

‘It was such a shock to our family. Our beautiful and vivacious little brother would be leaving us much sooner than we had hoped.’ After Archie was diagnosed, Amy took to Twitter to share a number of treasured memories, in order to document them online forever.

In a heartbreaking tweet, which has received more than 22,000 retweets and 48,000 likes, Amy wrote: ‘Hello everyone my dog has cancer and doesn’t have very long left so I’m going to share with you his best moments if u don’t mind x’. …Click here to read full story
